Ahoy!! Me an’ the rest o’ tha crew have been tryin’ out this new Pirate MMORTS called Picaroon! It’s in closed beta right now and if you want to join in you can also get your hands on some beta key booty below. Right that’s enough pirate talk for one day, back to the game. Picaroon has you battling, alone or with allies, as a futuristic pirate fighting to control the land in a water-world apocalypse. You can build massive fleets, sail the seas (watch out for whirlpools, giant squid and pirates!) and settle or conquer new islands.
Deploy Special cards to sink entire fleets, erupt volcanoes or call up a lightning strike! Revel in a unique climactic finale where you receive rare technology from the Warlord Kingdoms in return for your tributes: beware the mammoth ships that appear out of nowhere alongside submarines launching ancient nuclear tipped missiles.
Picaroon is free to play and if you’ve always wanted to play a pirate strategy game, this might be the one for you. There’s not much known about this game yet, but it looks a lot of fun from what we have seen. Have a look at this unofficial game play video we managed to find:
