Ankama has just announced the release of the new Frigost Expansion for their hugely successful MMORPG called Dofus. Frigost is an entire new continent to explore for higher level players and introduces new icy versions of existing monsters as well as new monster families and hundreds of new quests which unlock as the story unfolds.

Nearly a century ago, Frigost was a green and fertile land, where the climate was mild and temperate. Promoting progress and innovation, the island had become the largest agricultural power in the World of Twelve. Only Amakna, its rival, always threatened to supplant them…

To avoid this, Count Harebourg, genius of his time, built a machine capable of influencing the climate. Fascinated by this wonderful invention, Jiva, the Guardian of Javian, asked the Count to refine the technology in order to carry out a secret mission. But the experiment was cut short and the Demon Djaul, who was not expected there, went into a rage. To punish the inhabitants of Frigost for this affront, he froze the island in time and ordered its residents to live in a perpetual winter…
